The Story

Hi, I'm Delaney — a fourth-year Fine Art student at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen. I’ve been drawing since I was little, always fascinated by animals, especially the Shar -Pei we grew up with. That early love for creatures big and small has only grown stronger.

Much of my work is inspired by the incredible marine life along Scotland’s east coast, where we’re lucky enough to spot dolphins almost daily. My practice focuses on marine animals and environmental themes, aiming to inspire deeper care for wildlife and the planet.

In 2025, my drawing “Puffins and Plastics” was Highly Commended in the Explorers Against Extinction: Sketch for Survival exhibition — a proud moment that reflects my passion for conservation through art.

I started taking commissions after a fundraiser for Cancer Research UK, in memory of my Gran, who always supported my art. What began with drawing her friends’ pets has since grown into a heartfelt pursuit of capturing the unique spirit of animals — both wild and domestic — through personal, expressive portraiture.

Every piece I create helps support my journey as an artist and my goal of funding a Master’s in Fine Art next year. Thank you for being part of that journey.
